Our vineyards

Our Story

It was at the beginning of the 20th century that the Bedrenne family, originally from Périgord, moved to the Gironde and Libourne in particular, in search of work. In those difficult times, emigration was often the only alternative to poverty, and Monique Bedrenne’s great-grandfather was employed as a vineyard manager at Château La Croix, near the former church of the Hospitaliers de Lalande de Pomerol. His son later bought vines in Lalande, thus expanding the family estate, which Monique’s father divided between vines and grassland for breeding.

These successive marriages, with only one heir, led to the expansion of the estate over several terroirs, which was taken over by Monique Bedrenne in 2005. For the last 8 years, Rémi and his team have been transforming the château by introducing controlled grassing to bring life to the soil. Observation and know-how have enabled us to limit our impact on the environment by lowering the dose of plant protection products and limiting the number of tractor passes required to compact the soil.
